A recently enacted law now requires motorists to move over one lane or, if it is not safe to do so, reduce their speed below the posted speed limit, when approaching an emergency vehicle (police, fire, ambulance, tow truck, etc.) that are parked with their flashing (red, blue and / or amber) lights on. A press conference coordinated by the Woodbridge Police Department was held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Avenel Fire House to promote awareness of the new law.
