  • Absolute was out to look at multiple issues with apparatus.
  • Purchased new equipment that had been damaged in the drill in Colonia.
  • Finley, Latshaw have been measured for new gear.
  • Received the new equipment that had been ordered.

  • Dunnigan came out to fix a urinal that was overflowing.

  • Concrete apron for 105 Avenel St.
  • Arrow Elevator – elevator not working, could be a sensor.
  • Air & Gas – Dryer should be working. Will come out and test.

      4.   Communications / Correspondence.

SPILLAR, FIRE OFFICIAL

  • Received $2500 penalty from TJ Maxx, silencing system, failing to evacuate. Continuing nature.
  • Received $2000 penalty from Dollar Tree. Failure to abate violation after several reinspection’s.
  • Chris completed and closed out 4 juvenile fire setter cases.
  • Tommy is confirmed and will start Fire Inspector 2nd week of March.

  • Melissa and I were sworn in for Notary. Stamps and seal should be in next week.

JAMES BOELHOWER, CHIEF 2023

  1. Insurance (Comprehensive, Health, Life, etc.). Workers Comp claim issues with F.F. Mizak have been resolved.

  3. On January 5 everything had been finalized with AIG Valic. Jennifer will be at the firehouse on March 8 to go over the new information.

  • Had some issues with headsets. Company came out to fix.
  • 5-2 had problems with buzzing and static. Found a damaged wire.

BRUCE MIZAK, 1st VICE PRESIDENT

  • Cory’s car was at Advance for a new battery.
  • Chris’s car battery died today.
  • New inspectors’ vehicle will go into production in May.
  • F.F. Finley’s pants need to be repaired. Will have to find gear for him while they are out being fixed.
  • F.F. Lastshaw will need new gear, his is now 10 years old.
  • Asst. Chief – Gear needs to be replaced.
  • New masks, liner kits, and gloves have been ordered.
  • Mutual Aid.

  • 105 Avenel St. Chuck Pennell had done some work and the invoice has been submitted.
  • First Aid squad would like a new concrete apron. Will cost about $40,000 to replace entire apron.
  • Quality 1st has a maintenance contract they submitted for 287.00.
  • Firehouse stairs. Waiting on some more floor tiles to come in.
  • Airtec was out to fix an issue with the HVAC unit.

  • End of the year report has been certified by FO and President of BOFC and has been submitted to the Division.
  • Received $1232.00 Fire Zone October/November 2022.
  • Holiday Fire Zone Enforcement
  • 56 summons issues, numerous warnings
  • 21 summonses issued during the standard off – hour enforcement.
  • Issued 1 Imminent Hazard – TJ Maxx 903 St. Georges Ave. Failure to evacuate, alarm silenced prior to arrival, numerous activations – alarm OOS.
  • 5-3-8 in process of 4 Juvenile Fire setter interviews.

  • All 2022 banked/carry over time is correct and 2023 time is correct.
  • Passed my Notary Exam and application is awaiting approval by local Legislature.

  • Issues with the transmitting on the radio was a problem with identifying numbers. All radios have been re-programmed.
  • Plan on purchasing more radios in 2023. All older radios will be put out of service.
  • Scan button on the radios has now been programmed.

BRUCE MIZAK, 1st VICE PRESIDENT

  • Three gas meters went out to be inspected.

  • PM is now complete on the truck.

  • Met with R. Sofield about having a few things repaired.
  • Firehouse stairs will be done between Christmas and New Years
  • Sump Pump having issues with sensors.

SPILLAR, FIRE OFFICIAL (Excused)

  • One imminent hazard order issued: Architectural Design Panels – 12 Mileed Way. Lack of sprinkler system and gas due to fire.
  • Incoming Chief and Officers will be refreshed on Fire Official/Dep. Fire Official notification guidelines.
  • End of year report for Division is being worked on and will send to state in the beginning of January.
  • All 2022 Life Hazard and Non – Life Hazard use inspections are completed.

 

BOARD LIASON, CORY SPILLAR (Excused)

  • All banked time is correct and will confirm after New year that all staff’s accrued time and 2023 time is correct.
  • ID Machine is operational again. Will need further service down the road.
  • Power DMS program has been updated and has all the proper logons.
  • New hire has been updated in PERS and in process of being transferred into CAMPS.
  • Key Fob system has been updated with Melissa and me as the contacts.
  • Camera vendor scheduled to come next week to install camera system on 3 computer units and work on existing cameras.
  • Certification classes taken for PFRS and PERS – Certifying Officer & Supervisor of Supervising Officer.

 

FRANK STRAIN, CHIEF 2022

  • Motor for the rescue boat for 2023
  • Christmas Party – would like to take the volunteers off Mutual Aid for the night.

SPILLAR, FIRE OFFICIAL

  • Tuesday, Nov. 1st the Christmas Tree will be brought to the Firehouse
  • Fire Prevention week and Open House was a huge success. Big difference being back in the schools with kids attending the Open House. Thanks to Chris Neroda, the career division, and volunteers for a job well done.
  • Will be using some more of my itemized line item to purchase low stocked supplies once October bills are processed, and I can see what I have left
  • I will submit bills to WTJBOFC for their annual reimbursement of Fire Prevention money
  • Amazon – 30 Blair Rd. Firewatch due to closure 11/2 – 11/3. To be reimbursed by Amazon.
  • Will be attending the League of Municipalities conference 11/14 – 11/17
  • 5-3-8 attending 16 hours, investigating for Arson Profit 11/9 – 11/10
  • Several on – line classes taken and scheduled for CEU’s
  • Holiday Overtime will begin in November and continue through 1/7 – 1/8/2023
