·         Will bring the boat down to be repaired the weekend of the Wildwood Convention

·         Cory and Chris now have new vehicles.

·         The lighting package will be installed in the new vehicles on August 24th.

·         5-1 went back out for issues with the night scan.

·         Received $3500 penalty from Advance Auto Parts – failure to abate violations in a timely manner.

·         Chris attended and passed 8 hours tested training.

·         Tommy passed both County and State tests, will await State certification.

·         Fire Prevention Supplies have been ordered and arrived for FPW.

·         Received $500 penalty from Slider Up – 1331 St. Georges Ave. Failure to maintain central station monitoring. Continuing nature violation.

·         Received $750 penalty, reduced from $1500, from Metroliner Express – Ralph Mocci. Failure to maintain Fire Alarm System

·         5-3-7 and 5-3-8 attended mandatory training at Academy for new RIMS inspection system.

·         5-3-8 attended tested training 8 hours – Fire Fatality Investigations.

 

BOARD LIASON, CORY SPILLAR

·         IT needs to install 2 new hard drives on the computer system to increase storage space. Cost per drive is $225.

·         We have no additional spare tablet batteries. Need to get through to as least next year. Each additional battery is $200.

·         Ordering new career department patches. The short sleeve golf shirts have gone through the supply. Thirteen shirts are being done now, other 13 will be don’t when the patches come in.

·         Meeting with Travelers insurance on 6/6 for annual risk assessment meeting and walk through.

  • Ordered 6 new radios and a new charging bank. Four for the Fire Department. Ordered 2 for Fire Prevention. All will be programmed when they come in.
  • Spoke to Rep about tablets. Wireless Communication does deal with tablets. Might look to get a quote from them in the future to replace the existing tablets.

BRUCE MIZAK, 1st VICE PRESIDENT

  • Problems with the air dryer. There was a circuit breaker that needed to be replaced.
  • 5-3-8 needed brakes.
  • Cory’s vehicle went for an oil change.
  • Firefighter Finley had his pants repaired.
  • Firefighter M. Mizak had his pants taken out of service. Need new pants.
  • NJ Fire – Received equipment that was ordered.
  • A battery-operated fan will cost about $5000.00.
  • Update Bureau cars – Going into production in May.

GREGORY CZOCH, TREASURER

  • Buildings and Grounds.

    • Security Camera system.

    • Lawn Maintenance.

Other.  – Floor in stairwell has been completed.

  • Had Bowco out to address some issues with mice in the firehouse. The kitchen should be kept cleaner.
  • Bathroom tiles
  • Phone lines had a few issues,
  • The elevator was having some problems. The sprinkler was changed out.
  • Grease trap has been removed from the kitchen.

SPILLAR, FIRE OFFICIAL

  • Received $750.00 penalty, reduced from $1500.00 from Garden State Dispensary. Failure to register as a Life Hazard Use.
  • Freezepak – 2 Paddock St. have co and operating 1289 Rahway Ave. Still a bit out and no tenant.
  • 1 Fire Prevention program at Greenway Family Success Center.
  • Ongoing complaints from residents – Ideal (will monitor) for record keeping purposes.  Vehicles parked in fire lane.
  • Juvenile Fire setter Program – No report
  • Thomas Mitch started Fire Inspector class 2 weeks ago.

BOARD LIASON, CORY SPILLAR

  • Working with Township IT to remove old phone numbers and tighten up the system.

JAMES BOELHOWER, CHIEF 2023

  • February fire calls
  • Conducted 2 drills in March
  • Two Drills are scheduled for April.
  • Freezepak – set up walk throughs.
  • Firefighter Hozer has been granted a 30-day LOA by the Chief. The Fire Co. will be voting to extend his LOA for his NJSP Academy training.
